Capote Talks Dramaturgy: Bob Kingdom @ Edfringe 2017
What was the inspiration.....?
I'd seen Robert Morse in 'Tru' on Broadway, and my friend, Lionel Bart, said, 'you could play him.'
Is performance still....?
It's the oldest tradition for maximum impact.
How did you become interested.....?
I'd always like the simplicity of the one-man-show.
Is there any particular.....?
To transport the audience along the journey of a unique life.
Does the show fit....?
Yes, looking and sounding like the person I'm playing.
What do you hope....?
Sharing the trials of the writer, tragedy, sadness, and a lot of laughs.
What strategies did you consider....?
To hold their attention for sixty-five minutes with no glancing at watches.
