Akademi is excited to re-launch its southasiandance.org.uk with a new look and a host of exciting new features to support and enhance performers and fans of South Asian dance.
Since 2001, SouthAsianDance.org.uk has been the leading information resource providing information on South Asian Dance and related arts. Managed by Akademi, it is the central hub of South Asian dance in the UK and beyond. As a membership website, it allows members to upload their event listings and provides the ability to promote their events through the monthly e-Newsletter, circulation of paid e-flyers and adverts on the website which helps them reach out to people across the UK and beyond with an interest in South Asian dance.
The website signposts dancers towards appropriate opportunities such as regular classes, workshops, master-classes, auditions and job opportunities.
Following its facelift the website is now easier to navigate. Formerly known as SADAA, the new fresh clean look has been created with the help of COG Design incorporating feedback from members. Along with a redesign, it has some new and exciting features such as:
· A members directory where members can create their own profile page
· A directory of contacts for any South Asian dance needs. This can range from artists to lighting designers.
· A news section will give the most up-to-date happenings in the South Asian dance world to keep you informed.
· A dance community section with listings of community dances
Individual membership is priced at £20 and Organisation membership is £35. The launch will be on Tuesday 3rd February with a trial membership available for the first three months. During this period there will also be an early bird offer of £10 off the normal price of membership.
Director of Akademi, Mira Kaushik says, "The new website is a real labour of love for us and we are very proud to relaunch it. We hope it will continue to be a valuable resource to those who perform, produce and appreciate South Asian Dance, with the additional benefit of a beautiful design and ease of use."
