Funny You Should Ask is an independent theatre company based in Sheffield. With a team made up of fantastically talented individuals from within the University of Sheffield, we are committed to offering FREE theatre workshops to children and schools within the local community, as well as producing a season of high quality theatrical work.
The interface between theatre and community always gets my attention - I read a book once that suggested while professional theatre is all well and good, it is the participation that is most effective for social change.
A few more notes....
EDGES is a cutting-edge musical comedy written by multi award-winning composers Pasek and Paul, and follows a group of young people on their journeys through live, love and loss. This particular production is particularly special as not only is it the first time the show has been produced and performed in Sheffield, but also as the cast, traditionally two men and two women, will instead be made up entirely by women. This striking and exciting revival raises new and interesting issues within the musical, adding an entirely new dimension.
The show is being supported by Sheffield University's LGBT society, and as part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring accessibility for all our shows, EDGES will be signed.
The show is being performed for ONE NIGHT ONLY
Monday March 17th
the Montgomery Theatre, Sheffield,
and as with all our shows, the proceeds and any additional money raised will be going toward providing the aforementioned workshops.
With a superb score including “Perfect”, “Be My Friend” and “In Short”, the Sheffield
Premiere of this show will be here for ONE NIGHT ONLY at the Montgomery Theatre,
presented by Funny You Should Ask. Hilarious, moving, and endlessly relatable,
EDGES is an unmissable and fantastic evening of theatre for all to enjoy.
